NUDESTIX

Recently I won a competition and the prize was some new makeup from a brand I had never heard of before that has just recently been launched at SpaceNK!

Nudestix is created by two sisters Ally & Taylor, and their Mum Jenny who has had over 20 years of beauty experience! Basically it is a brand that consists of products that enhance your natural beauty rather than cover it up.
You can read all about Nudestix here.

As you can imagine, I was super excited to try them out so when the postman turned up with them I didn't hang about.

I received a cute little tin with a mirror in the lid (very handy) containing a lash lengthening mascara, eye pencil in the shade 'Golden' and a sharpener which is another handy little addition.

The eye pencil acts as an eyeliner, eye shadow and highlighter with a smudger attached on the other side.  It has a lovely creamy texture making it easy to apply and blend, I like to use this all over as an eye shadow, Golden is a lovely shade and is one I would've chosen myself.

My favourite has to be the mascara though! The brush is a perfect size and it volumises and lengthens all my lashes with no clumping whatsoever. It has quickly become my go to mascara during the day now and I will more than likely be purchasing this when it has run out.
Also it claims to increase your lashes natural growth rate, bonus!

I think this brand is great and can see it being a big hit in the future!
You can purchase Nudestix products from SpaceNk.

Have you heard of this brand before? What do you think of the whole natural look idea?

Yankee Candle Dupes

Whilst browsing my local Home Bargains yesterday I spotted these little candle jars, at first glance they really looked like Yankee Candles but on second look they are actually by a brand called Wickford & Co.

See how similar they look to the Yankee Candle jars?

I picked up the three scents pictured, Sweet Pea, Rose Bouquet and White Sands. There were some other scents but I only got these for now.
All three candles smell lovely and as roses are my favourite scent I have already had Rose Bouquet on the burn and I must say that I am not disappointed! It has a strong lingering scent without being too overpowering.

Want to know how much these little jars of loveliness cost?

Just 49p! Yes, madness!

So if you are looking for some pretty looking, beautiful scented candles but do not want to splash out on Yankees then these are for you.
They had some larger jars as well for £2.99 and I will definitely be picking some up next time I'm in there!

Lip Voltage review

After joining the hype for this lip gloss I finally got my hands on it, it seems like women have gone mental for Lip Voltage and maybe I did as well (a little bit).

It is made by a company called Dream Weave & Co and you get two tubes, the actual lip gloss which is clear (has a sponge applicator) and the Mix Up The Voltage drops. You put the drops into the lip gloss depending on how much voltage you want and mix for 20 seconds. I only used 1 drop which is low voltage for my first time using it as I had heard it can hurt quite a bit, and I'm not going to lie, it did hurt but it was bearable and the pain wore off after about ten minutes so I then went for two drops (medium voltage) and after the pain wore off I went for it with 3 (high voltage).

Before and after Lip Voltage
Before and after Lip Voltage side view

You can tell from my before and after pictures that it does make quite a noticeable difference, I loved the effect and it is definitely worth going through that bit of pain!

The lasting power is really good and I had nice plump lips for the whole day without having to reapply anymore voltage.

Lip voltage does what it claims and I am very impressed with it and I'm glad I managed to eventually get hold of one.

It seems to always be out of stock but its worth a quick search on Google for stockists and check the Lip Voltage Twitter page. It costs around £15.99.

Have you tried Lip Voltage yet?

Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer

I have been using the Origins GinZing moisturizer now for 3 months and it is fantastic!

It contains natural ingredients and is free from harsh chemicals. Perfect.

The oil free formula is really light so it sinks into the skin straight away leaving it feeling refreshed and silky meaning it makes a perfect moisturiser before applying make up.
My little dry patches have disappeared since using this cream and my skin all round looks healthier.

It has a beautiful citrus scent that makes me actually look forward to applying this, am I weird?

The GinZing moisturizer is the first product from Origins that Ive tried and I am not disappointed at all. I cant wait to try out another Origins product but I'm unsure what to try next, any suggestions?

The 50ml pot costs £23 from Boots and is worth every penny in my opinion.

Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer

I have finally discovered the perfect affordable concealer in the form of Collections Illuminating Touch!

This little gem is just magic.

It is a 3-1 product that corrects, highlights and illuminates and contains light diffusing particles.
It's available in three shades, Glow, Natural and Naked and I use the shade Naked as it hides my dark under eyes really well and doesn't dry out my skin either.
It comes in a pen like dispenser that you have to twist the bottom to make the product come out of the synthetic bristles at the top, the lid does gets mucky but I do prefer this style for application. The writing on the pen also rubs off fairly quick but it's the actual product inside that matters to me and for £4.99 i'm really not going to complain.

I'm on my second pen now and I will carry on purchasing, I could not go a day without this!

Have you tried this concealer? Do you have any recommendations for when I next purchase something from Collection?

Our weekend away at Hayling Island

A while ago me and Ky decided to try out a sun holiday, so after collecting all the tokens and choosing our preferred destinations we were given a Parkdean holiday at Hayling Island, I was actually hoping for Butlins at first but now I am really glad we got Hayling!
The caravan or mobile home or whatever you actually call it was amazing, I was expecting us to be given one of the cheapest ones to be honest but this one was really lovely, my boyfriend even said how he could live in one!
Parkdeans entertainment was quite impressive as well, there was something on every night, and also during the day but we only went to the night time ones.
Stanley thoroughly enjoyed himself there, he spent most of the day time telling us he wanted to go dancing bless him, I have a little party animal on my hands! On our last night he got called onto the stage to play a game to win some points for his team, I was so proud of him as I was expecting him to do a runner as he can be quite shy. The entertainers were lovely and really did make a good effort.

Proud mummy moment right here!

I have decided I'm one of those people who love pebble beaches, I loved spending time on the beach searching for interesting stones and sea glass. There's not tons of things to do at Hayling Island but it makes the perfect location for a relaxed weekend getaway. We are planning on going back next year and I can see Parkdean at Hayling Island being a regular getaway for us now.

We did take a trip to Portsmouth whilst on holiday, Gunwharf Quays was amazing! I managed to get the Cath Kidston Garden Birds day bag and purse I had been lusting after for ages for much cheaper than your typical Cath stores. We will definitely be returning there!

No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation

Recently I have fell in love with this No7 Beautifully Matte foundation...

I was originally planning on purchasing MAC studio fix whilst out birthday shopping with my mum but we popped into Boots first, and I am definitely glad we did.

The lady on the counter was lovely, I can be quite intimidated sometimes at beauty counters but this lady was great, very helpful and not pushy at all.
My colour match for this foundation is Warm Ivory, at first I thought it was going to be too dark but it actually matches my skin perfectly.

This little beauty is everything I need in a foundation, quite heavy coverage without feeling too heavy, built in SPF, long lasting and keeps shine at bay.
It has a pump dispenser as well which is always a good thing.

You can purchase this foundation from Boots for £13.50 AND I think the £3 off No7 make up vouchers are currently hanging about.

MUA LUXE Velvet Lip Lacquer - Reckless

I was browsing Superdrug for some pretty things to spend my vouchers on when I spotted these MUA LUXE velvet lip laquers, velvet lips, interesting. I picked up one in the shade Reckless, a deep red.

The packaging for these are great and much more expensive looking, I especially like the frosted tube.

I had no idea what to expect when trying this out as I've never tried a velvet lip product before. The formula is quite thick and highly pigmented, which is great. It is quite sticky so you have to wait for it to dry for a while and then  it becomes a beautiful velvety matte finish. The staying power was really impressive, only a few touch ups needed throughout the day.

I really like this product and will be picking up some more colours next time I'm in Superdug.

For £3 they are definitely worth it!

Wax Lyrical Bedtime Stories Candle

I received this gorgeous candle as an early birthday present from my mum. It's a Wax Lyrical candle in the scent Bedtime Stories. Don't you just love the name? The colour is a pretty pastel pink, which goes perfect with my decor and the burn time is approximately 35 hours.

Bedtime Stories smells like talcum powder, much like the Yankee Candle Baby Powder scent. I like to burn this in the evening as it's a nice calming scent. I think this candle is just right, not to overpowering but you can really smell it and it lasts. I also received a Wax Lyrical reed diffuser in Sweet Pea and it's so lovely! I definitely will be buying more from Wax Lyrical from now.

Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean 3-1 Wash Off Cleanser

Is everyone enjoying the beautiful weather we are currently having here in the UK? No? Me neither.

But anyway here's something that brightens up my day, the Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean cleanser.

It is a 3-1 product that claims to cleanse, smooth and revitalise your skin.
Apparently it melts away make-up but I use my Loreal micellar water to take my face of first then use this cleanser.

I use this as my daily cleanser. It smells amaaaazing and completely cleans my skin leaving it lovely and soft with a nice fresh glow.

I love this cleanser a lot and don't see myself leaving it for a while.

It's currently on offer at Boots for £5.33! Bargain!

Ted Baker Nail Wraps

I've always loved the Ted Baker range in Boots, I also love all the high end fashion but my budget is more of a Boots one..

I could hardly contain my excitement when I noticed Boots sold Ted Baker nail wraps! The ones I purchased are black with little yellow birds at the bottom.

I usually use nail wraps on my toes in the summer but I couldn't wait to whack these beauties on so I used them on my fingernails. They are really good quality and took me about 10 minutes, if that, to apply.

Bomb Cosmetics Ugly Duckling Bath Blaster

I purchased my first Bomb Cosmetics bath blaster the other day and I chose Ugly Duckling costing £2.50. How cute is this bath blaster?

It contains cocoa and shea butters, kukui nut oil and pure geranium essential oil. The scent is very fresh and uplifting, not overwhelming and harsh at all. I liked this one because it really felt as though I was giving my skin a good gentle treat. I also just adore the little duck.

Ebay Bargain: Perfume Atomiser

I've been meaning to buy a perfume atomiser for a while now and didn't want to pay nearly a tenner for the Travalo one, so off I went to good old Ebay. I found some that looked exactly the same as the Travalo ones for £1.71! They are from China so I did have to wait a couple of weeks for it to arrive but that didn't bother me at all considering the price.

Please excuse my kitten, she likes to be a part of everything!

I chose the atomiser in Pink but there are 6 other colours to chose from.

To fill it up you simply take the cap thing what do you call it? off your chosen perfume bottle, put the atomiser on top and pump! It fills up really quick.

You can find the seller I purchased it from HERE.

Bomb Cosmetics Twisted Willow Candle

I've always wanted to try a Bomb Cosmetics candle so I was very happy to receive this in my stocking from my mum at Christmas, yes I'm 22 and I still have a stocking and I love it!

What attracts me to these candles is the cute packaging and names.
I received the Twisted Willow glass candle. The little wax heart on the top is such a cute little detail.
The scent is very fresh but not over powering. Approximate burn time is 35 hours.

Raindrops on Roses is next on my wish list!

Tesco F&F Cosmetics

Not long ago I was browsing online and discovered Tescos F&F cosmetics range on offer. I made an order of 3 products including two lipsticks and a cream blush.

What I noticed first is how nice the packaging is, not like most budget cosmetics.

A lip colour that has an even satiny finish. This has a true colour and moisture balance.

The two lipsticks I bought are in the shade Shhh... and Penny Lane, both for £1.49!
They are long lasting and don't make my lips dry at all. The colour pay off is pretty good as well. I am really impressed with these and will no doubt be picking up some of the other shades next time I'm in store.

A cream to powder blush. Combine a soft and natural look to the skin with great staying power for a perfect cheek.

I also ordered this cream blush in the shade Precious Pink, also £1.49.
It gives a subtle natural glow to my face, I'm not really used to cream blushers but I really liked this.

Jimmy Choo Flash Gift Set

I was very lucky to receive the Jimmy Choo Flash gift set from my boyfriend at Christmas, the packaging is very glamorous, I will definitely be keeping this super sparkly box! The man done good.

The gift set contains a 60ml eau de parfum and a 100ml body lotion. The bottle is clear glass with a lid that looks like a diamond and the liquid is a lilac colour, it's very pretty and looks great on the dressing table.

It is a sweet floral scent that includes notes of pink pepper, strawberry, tangerine, tuberose, jasmine, white lily and powdery woods.

I've been using this perfume during the day and much prefer it when it has died down.

Have you tried this perfume?

Munchkin Turtle Shower

My toddler has always been a bit scared of the shower so when my mum bought him this turtle shower from Munchkin for Christmas I was eager to test this out with him.

The turtle sticks to the tiles or the side of the bath really well and doesn't slip and slide everywhere. When you press the turtles tummy the little fish hanging down, which Stanley has named Nemo (every fish is Nemo) sucks up the water and squirts it from the turtles mouth. The boy loves this bath toy and he doesn't even mind it spraying in his face.

Looking as happy as the turtle

As you can tell from the photo above, Stanley is super happy with his new turtle shower.

I would definitely recommend this to get the little ones used to the shower and it does provide lots of bath time fun and look super cute in the bath room at the same time.

You can purchase the Munchkin Turtle Shower from Amazon for £8.99.

What do you think of this cute bath time toy?

His and Hers Pamper Night

Hi all, hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Back in November I was invited to the Braun Mummy Me Time event but as I was unable to make it (I was gutted) I was kindly sent some goodies for me and my boyfriend to have a pamper night instead! Included was the Braun SkinSpa and CoolTec.

I'll go first and tell you a bit about the SkinSpa, ladies first and all that.

This is the first epilator I have owned and it is not only an epilator but an exfoliation system as well, a right little multitasker.

The instrucions are quite easy to understand so I had no problems setting up. Oh I think I should mention that you will need a shaver adapter as it's a 2 pin plug, you can get them for a couple of quid of Ebay.

I started of with exfoliating my legs using the exfoliating brush that attaches to the device, such a good idea don't you think? Exfoliating prior to epilating should reduce the chance of ingrown hairs.

When it came down to epilating, I'm not gonna lie I was a bit nervous because I've heard a lot about it being painful but I got in a nice warm bath and got started. Yes it hurt, but only at first, I got used to it pretty quickly, maybe the high frequency massage system that is built into the device helped the pain.

The results were good, I will have to go over my legs again to get the strays though but that's no big deal, it was only my first time but I'm sure I will become a pro soon enough. This is definitely going to be my way of hair removal now, it's easier than waxing. I might brave the armpits and bikini line next...maybe. If needed you can also use this on your face.

It is available in Boots.

Onto the fellas gadget..the CoolTec, the worlds first shaver with active cooling technology.

This arrived just at the right time as Ky only broke his usual shaver the other day. He was eager to test this out so off into the bathroom he went. You can also use this in the shower if you like as well.

The shaver is fully charged in 1 hour or you can pop it on charge for 5 minutes and that should be enough for 1 shave.

The instructions, like the SkinSpa, were simple to understand which is always good. He enjoyed using the CoolTec and is impressed with the cooling feature, it definitely minimised shaving irritation.

This is also available in Boots.

Overall both of the products are good little gadgets, we both enjoyed the results and will carry on using the SkinSpa and CoolTec, If your looking for a gift for your other half, maybe keep these in mind as I'm sure whoever receives these will not be disappointed.

Have you tried epilating before? Do you have any tips?

Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp Ultra-Volume Mascara

Back in the days when I was subscribed to Glossy Box I received a sample size of the Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp mascara and I loved it! It was only recently though when I ran out of my Benefit They're Real mascara that I decided on a change and made my way to the Yves Rocher website. I purchased it in black but they also have brown and blue.

The brush on this mascara is very plump and curvy, a bit like me haha. It's easy to apply and coats every single lash with barely any clumping. There was no flaking either.
Sexy Pulp definitely does what it says on the tin and I would recommend this to anyone.

Get ready for some scary eyes photos...

Before

After
I used two coats in the above picture.

Sexy Pulp is currently on offer on the website down from £17.90 to £8.90!! Bargain in my opinion.
